2%: A Celebration of Black Artistry is coming to Placentia with a genuine purpose—to continue growing the Black History Art narrative and give space to the voices, stories, and creativity that deserve to be seen and celebrated. While Black artists make up a small percentage of the art world, their influence, innovation, and cultural impact are far greater than any number could ever show.
This exhibition brings people together in a meaningful way. Every piece of art invites you to pause, feel, and connect—with history, with community, and with the artists themselves. It’s a moment to honor where we’ve been, appreciate where we are, and look forward with hope for what’s ahead.
We’re grateful to have FIT Planning Group opening their beautiful office to host this event. Their support helps make this gathering possible, and they’ll be there to welcome everyone into the space.
Adding even more heart to the event, local vendors like Hot Grease and Larissa Art will be on-site, bringing their own creativity and community spirit. The exhibition also highlights the Brand County Project, widening the lens and showcasing powerful regional voices.
At its core, 2%: A Celebration of Black Artistry is about people—artists sharing their truth, communities coming together, and a shared commitment to keep these stories alive. This Placentia showcase is more than an exhibition; it’s a celebration, a gathering, and a step forward in honoring a narrative that matters deeply.
